Sit down, we need to talk.

Briana and I were upstairs brushing her teeth before bed. On our way down the stairs she stops, sits down, and says very seriously "Sit down Mom, we need to talk."

So being the ever obedient mom that I am, I sat down, wondering what on earth could be so serious that we need to sit on the stairs and talk about it.

She says "Mom, that toothpaste tastes like watermelon."

The End.

The Cops and the Dungeon

My kid is a picky eater. I know, shocking, especially since I'm not even remotely picky. Or something like that. And often she won't eat what I eat, nor will she eat when I eat.

We went to Andy's parents's (is parents's right Mel?) house for dinner tonight. Briana said she wasn't hungry and didn't want to eat so we didn't give her anything to eat. Andy's mom sent ice cream and brownie home with us for her to have for dessert after she ate, but when we got home, she still didn't want to eat.

So now that it's bed time, she's hungry and thirsty naturally. I told her she couldn't have anything, that she should've eaten when we did. "Give me something to eat or I'm gonna call the cops and they will take you to the dungeon." Yes, that is what she said to me. She then proceeded to pretend to call the cops, puts the phone up to her ear and says "Hello cops, come get her and take her to the dungeon. Ok thanks. Bye." It was beyond hilarious and super cute. She still isn't getting anything to eat.

Seriously, this kid should be a comedian!

Ode to clothes

Ok so I have to give a little history before I tell this story and it just might be TMI for some of you, but it's necessary for the story.

Usually I sleep naked. And when Briana wakes up before I do, I just put my robe on and get her settled, then I'll go back upstairs and put on some clothes.

So this morning I hear her yelling for me at 6:45 so I put my robe on, go get her, and bring her into the bathroom with me so I can go pee and brush my teeth. Then we go downstairs and get her into some panties, I get her some strawberry milk, turn on the cartoons, and make me some coffee.

As my coffee is brewing, I go upstairs and put clothes on and get the dogs so they can go outside and eat breakfast.

So about 20 minutes later, we're sitting on the couch watching cartoons and Briana says to me "Mama, can you put some clothes on? I don't want you to be naked at school." LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.....she just kills me sometimes!

Man I love her!

Two things....

First, I am going to Kansas City, MO this weekend and Briana will be staying with her Grandma Kim while I'm gone. So we were outside playing on the swing set earlier and I tell her that she will be staying with Grandma because I'll be gone all weekend. Immediately she says "I'll miss you Mama." Awwwwww......made my heart melt! I love this kid!

Second, we went out to dinner tonight and she only ate half of her tortilla so I told her she wouldn't get anything else to eat tonight if she didn't eat all of her tortilla. So she just asked for some pancakes and some chocolate milk. I told her she couldn't have anything else to eat since she didn't have all her dinner. She says "Mama, I'm serious, I'm just going to eat pancakes."

Ok so it was only funny to me, but it was funny none the less.

The Hooker

Now I know this blog is supposed to be about my kid, so don't be put off by the title of this post. You'll laugh, I promise. We sure got a good laugh out of it. Sometimes I wish I could go back to the days of my innoncence from when I was 4. Then I get over it.

As some of you know, my wonderful boyfriend's family has a cabin in Colorado that we go to often. So for the BF's b-day (which was Thursday) he wanted to come up here for the weekend. So we left Friday after work and school.
We left the cabin around 10:30 this morning and went fishing at a little pond just up the road. No, we didn't catch anything, but Briana and I aren't exactly seasoned fisherwomen either. Then we came back to the cabin and had lunch. Then we drove up the canyon and drove to Lost Lake. It was packed so we decided to just keep driving. We ended up driving on a lot of back roads.

While on one of these back roads, we happened to find a spot that had a sign saying that it was a research spot that looked like it was a prime spot for fishing. So we stopped and brought out the fishing poles. Well it was a really shallow river and it was moving fast so Briana lost her hook at one point. She finally decided to fish again and said that she wanted a hook on her pole. I told her she would have to wait for Andy to get back from the truck because I don't know how to put a hook on the line. So she starts walking to the truck and says she's going to go find the hooker. I asked her who the hooker was and she says "Andy's the hooker." Now I know she didn't mean anything by it other than that he was the one that needed to put the hook on the line, but it made us giggle.

It was a great day with the two people I love the most!

Say Cheese

So this is my kid cheesing it up for me. This is the look she gives me whenever she is in trouble or being naughty, or after she says please when she's asking me for something. I'm pretty sure she knows that it makes me giggle every stinking time she flashes this wonderfully cheesy grin at me so she uses it against me whenever she has the chance. She's a little bit of rotten sometimes.

I really wanted to go to Estevans (a local Mexican restaurant that I love) for dinner tonight. Princess Briana was on board when I first asked her if she wanted to go get a tortilla. But then she wanted strawberry milk, but I didn't have any in the car. Meltdown ensued because she didn't want chocolate milk at Estevans, she wanted strawberry milk at home. So we go home instead of going to Estevans (which I'm still bitter about, by the way) and she has frozen mini pancakes and I have waffles. But the joke's on her.....the milk I have here for her is chocolate, not strawberry. LOLOLOLOLOL. Just to clarify, I give her a mixture of half Pediasure and half whole milk when she drinks milk. The Pediasure that we have right now is chocolate flavored. I find that very amusing.

Adventures in daycare....

First, I just want to say YAY, I actually have a couple of followers! :)

Second, I would like to apologize in advance for the randomness that will probably be this blog. Every single one of my 10 personalities has ADD so trying to keep up with all the jumbled thoughts in my head is near impossible. But I try, and usually fail miserably, but that's beside the point. This isn't about me, it's about Briana......

Anyway, since I'm a single mom and all, my kid goes to a daycare that is wonderfully close to my house. I'm extremely happy with this place and am so glad I decided to change daycares. Briana doesn't cry when I drop her off at this one, nor does she cry when I pick her up. In fact, one day, she didn't want to leave at all and a meltdown ensued when I tried to get her out the door and to the car. This makes me extremely happy. Which may seem weird that a meltdown makes me happy, but it does. She was NOT happy at her old daycare so not wanting to leave this one is a huge improvement!

A little background to lead up to this story first. I think that Briana has some seasonal summer allergies, so I give her Zyrtec in the mornings on the days that it's nice enough that I think she will be going outside at daycare. She tends to cough a little, get a stuffy/runny nose.

On to the story, on the way to daycare yesterday, or school as we call it, she coughs a little and gets all sad (in that pathetic way that kids do) and says she needs her medicine. I tell her that she won't need it since it's cold outside and she probably won't get to play outside today. So we get to school, I sign her in, hang her coat in her cubby, then take her to her classroom. I stoop down to give her a hug and a kiss and she coughs a little. She then leans up against me and gets all sad and pathetic again and says "Mommy, I don't feel good" then looks at me with her little puppy dog eyes. Heart wrenching, right? Not so much. I've seen her schtick before. So I just tell her that I think she'll live and ask for a kiss. As she's giving me a kiss, her BFF Paygan comes in. So she gives me a quick kiss and then rushes over to play with Paygan. So much for being sick! LOL!

I just love her sometimes!

Introduction

So I keep saying that I want to start a blog and capture all of the hilarious, and not so hilarious moments of my kid's life. But let's be real, I don't have that kind of time. So if I capture even 1/16th of her moments, I'll be doing much better than I ever anticipated I would with this blog. Add to that the fact that I work full time, and have the single worst case of pregnancy brain (4 years later) that I have ever seen, this should get interesting. I've resigned myself to the fact that I will need to either be near a computer 24/7 or will need to carry a notebook with me 24/7 so that I can instantly jot down the things I want to remember to blog about when I have the 2 seconds of free time I get in a night!

Take tonight for instance, I know there were plenty of things that she did to make me giggle tonight.....I just know it. But do you think I can remember more than just the most recent one? Of course not.

On that note, for some reason, my kid seems to think that I always need to turn the light on in the bathroom for her instead of her doing it herself, even though she knows how to do it and can reach it. So she goes to the bathroom and says "Mommy, come here right now before I spank your butt." Ok, ok, so maybe it was only funny to me, but it made me giggle none the less.

I just have one last thing to say.....I hope you enjoy my blog as much as I am envisioning you will in my head. One out of the 10 voices in my head is telling me that there is someone out there who will enjoy this blog, so let's go with that one!

Cheers!
