Thank you Santa!

So Princess Briana and I went to Target on Sunday to get replacement light bulbs for our outside lights and to get a rolling pin for when we start our Christmas baking. We were walking by the cards on our way to get the rolling pin and this is how our conversation went...

Briana: "Mommy, we need to get a thank you card."

Me: "Oh we do huh? For who?"

Briana: "For Santa!"

Awwwww.....isn't that just the sweetest thing? She wants to get a thank you card to give to Santa after he brings her presents.

I seriously love this kid!

Prayers and Thanksgiving

One of my friends, Aimee, and her husband, Mike, will be spending Thanksgiving in the hospital. Mike is ill and won't be released for a few more days. Mike's parents are also in town for the holiday. We do not want them to have to cook or to endure hospital food for Thanksgiving. We have set up a paypal account for donations to order them a Thanksgiving meal from Mimi's (http://www.mimiscafe.com/PDF/HolidayFeast.pdf). If you would like to donate money, please click the button below.

I would also like to request that you all say a prayer for Aimee and Mike for a speedy recovery!

Thank you all so much and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Christmas is a comin'!

I know it's been awhile since I've posted an update....I apologize! We have been very busy with life in general. Briana started ballet and is the cutest ballerina I've ever seen, but then, I'm a little biased!

It's that time of year again. You know, that time of year when every commercial that come on the tv results in a chorus of "Mom, I want that for Christmas!", or "Mom, you should get that for me for Christmas!", or "Mom, I love that movie! You should get it for me for Christmas!". Little does she know that I only have two more things to get her for Christmas, along with her stocking stuffers... and all of what I got her isn't anything that she has said she wants. But I'm 100% sure she is going to love what I got her!

Yesterday, we went to Portrait Innovations to get our Christmas pictures taken. For those of you that don't know about our history of taking pictures at Sears, let me just take you on a short little picture montage trip of how our picture sessions at Sears unually end up.

We always take the group pictures first. And as you can see, my little angel is happy and smiling just perfectly!

Then we do the pictures of her and me together. She also does quite well with these too.
Then come the pictures of Briana by herself. The first one always has to be a picture where we catch her off guard. Not to shabby right?
Then we get the "I'm not quite sure if I should cry or not" picture.
Then she finally decides that yes, she should, in fact, be crying. So she does. And so ends our picture sessions.
Now for our picture session at Portrait Innovations. Like always, we started with the group pictures. She did great with these ones like always!
Then we took the pictures of her and I. Once again, she did great with these!
Now, I will let the following photo montage do the rest of the talking. You can be the judge of how the rest of the shoot went!
I don't know about you, but I think we will be taking all future pictures at Portrait Innovations!

I Love You!

So Briana has been in bed for 25 minutes now. About 10 minutes ago she hollered at me so I went up to her room to see what she wanted. This is how the conversation went.

Me: "What baby?"

Briana: "I love you."

Me: "Is that all you wanted?"

Briana: "Yes."

Me: "I love you too. Good night boo."

Briana: "Good night mommy."

My heart melted right then and there!

Hide and Seek

Briana: "Let's play hide and seek. I'll go hide under Pepa's covers!"

Me: Laughing too hard to comment.

I love this kid!

Whiney Butt

We went to my parents' house on Saturday. We told Briana she couldn't stay the night with them because she didn't eat any dinner and was being a whiney butt.

Fast forward to Sunday morning.

I say "What are we going to do today lovebug?"

"Go to Grandma Margo's house."

"Why?"

"Because I'm not going to be a whiney butt!"

The end!

Briana Reading to Grandma!

It's kind of hard to hear since we were outside and it was kind of breezy. But it was cute!

Briana's First Slumber Party!

On Saturday we had our very first slumber party. We threw some blankets and our pillows down on the floor. Briana was so excited!
Then I painted her finger nails and toe nails and I painted my toe nails. Please excuse the messiness that is my toe nails....I hadn't touched them up yet.
We put Cat in the Hat in and we danced...
And we danced.....
And we danced.
Then, we had to rest. Dancing made us tired!

Then we had popcorn. Which she bugged me to make from the instant we walked in the door, then promptly ate 5 pieces and was done.
Then one hour and 40 minutes into our slumber party, Briana fell asleep on the couch.
And this was the sad state of our sleeping set up after she fell asleep on the couch. After she fell asleep on the couch, I let her sleep there for a while. I decided to take her up to her bed so I could sleep in my bed and not be forced to sleep on the floor alone! When I picked her up she said "I love you mommy." It was priceless.

Pool Time Fun!

This is how we started out the day on Saturday......getting ready for pool time fun!
After some time in the pool, it was time to read. She moved her chair under the tree and read her "story". She also read the story to Grandma....which I took a video of but I can't seem to get the video loaded for some reason! I'll keep trying.
Then Pepa brought her Princess slide up from downstairs and put it in the pool for her to use. She loved it and had so much fun with it!
Then we came inside and had peaches on a stick. We went to the Farmer's Market earlier in the morning and the samples of peach were given out on toothpicks....hence the peaches on a stick.
Then she put her Island Princess dress on and went back outside to play before dinner.
She decided she wanted to swing so we took turns pushing her. When I was pushing her, I started singing to her and she fell asleep. It was adorable!

We then ended the day with a slumber party in the living room but I will make a sperate post about that!
It was a great day! :)

Who's Teaching Her These Things?

I don't know who taught her, but someone showed Briana how to have thumb wars. So we have been having lots of thumb wars. We were just having one and I won. So then she says "Let's do one more so I can win." She then proceeded to cheat so she could win. That's my girl!

That was kind of lame, but it's all I got for ya.

Thank you and good night! :)

The Next American Idol!

So I've been listening to a LOT of country music lately. And in the car yesterday we heard Keith Urban's song called "I Wanna Kiss a Girl." So when we got home, Briana started singing that song, except that the only line she knows is "I wanna kiss a girl." So she immediately grabbed her Doodlebops guitar and put on a show for us. This is just the last 30 seconds or so of the show, but entertaining none the less! So enjoy!

Yay for the carnival!

So we have a huge outdoor rodeo, carnival, parade, and night shows the last full week of July here. So on Saturday we went to the parade, then went to the carnival. I really didn't think Briana would ride any rides because she's kind of a chicken, but she shocked me and rode some rides. So here is a chronicle of the rides we/she rode.
This is Briana in the caboose on the train ride. I had to ride it with her so that's my arm.

This is us on the carousel. Don't we both looked thrilled?

This is her on the 4 wheeler ride. She rode all by herself. Mommy was so proud of her!!

This is us riding the train, AGAIN.

This is Briana riding the boat.
She wanted to ride the steering wheel, a.k.a. the ferris wheel. But I'm pretty sure we would've gotten on it and gotten to the top and she would've freaked out so I talked her out of that one! Phew! I really didn't want to see that freak out so I'm glad I averted the crisis!

I bought her a pink cowgirl hat to go with the not one, but two pairs of pink cowgirl boots she has now. She's all cowgirled up!
So after a parade, the carnival, and two night shows, I'm about over Frontier Days. Thank goodness it's almost over!
Cheers!

Love and Marriage....go together like a horse and carriage.

Kids are so funny.

Tonight at dinner, Briana ate really good. So I let her have a couple of cookies and since she was out of milk in her sippy, I let her drink the rest of my milk. She had a milk moustache and said "Mama, I have a moustache so now I can marry you."

Apparently I will not be marrying my boyfriend, but will instead be marrying my child. Why does that seem so wrong to me? HAHAHAHAHAHA

Briana's First Haircut!

So another part of mommy/daughter day was haircuts for Briana and mommy. This is the first haircut Briana has ever had. Well, besides the time her dad cut her bangs when she was little. And he got in BIG trouble for that! Anywho, I took some pictures to document the occassion! This is the front of her hair before she got the haircut.

This is the back of her hair before her haircut!

This is right after Krystal cut her braid off. Notice she has it in her hand!

This is the front after her haircut. She was mad because I was delaying swimming pool time by taking this picture.

This is the back after her haircut!

This is the hair we cut off. It was a lot of hair! At least 7 inches I bet!

And this is mommy and Briana after we were both done with our haircuts! She was such a good girl through the entire hour and a half that we were there and Krystal did a great job!
YAY for mommy/daughter day!
